『Game Awards 2014』のノミネート候補は、国際的な28のメディアに寄って選出されています。
アワードには、「Game Of the Year」や「Developer Of The Year」などメディアによって結果が決定される16部門、ファン投票で決定される5つの部門が設けられています。

このうち、ファン投票部門に「eSports Player of the year」「eSports team of the year」が設けられており、2014年のベストプロゲーマー、プロゲームチームが選出されます。
