『Smite World Championship』では、期間限定で購入可能なスキン等のゲーム内アイテムの購入に200Gemが使用されると、賞金総額が1ドル増える取り組みが行なわれています。
元々の大会賞金総額は60万ドルでしたが、この仕組みにより賞金総額が250万ドルを突破しています。

『DOTA2』は2013年に開催された「The International 3」から課金アイテムの売上の一部を賞金総額に配分する仕組みを導入しています。こちらの大会の基本賞金総額は160万ドルで、ファンのサポートにより賞金総額が増額されています。
基本賞金だけで比較した場合は、League of Legendsが最も高額な賞金総額のゲーム大会を開催しているということになります。
